Visual + Music = cool
Some of you may know and some of you may not but here it is.

I am frequently down on 118th ave and it can be truly disheartening to witness some of the on goings in the area. The fact that crack pipes are being sold in convenient stores and no one gives a shit is a reflection of a much bigger problem. It has become evident that a few sports murals and a giant baseball bat have been little help in an area plagued by prostitution, violence, and drug use. So are we a part of the problem or a part of the solution. It is truly inspiring to see some individuals step up and improve things in any way they can. Here is a tidbit to keep you interested. I found this beautifully haunting. The illustrations were done by artists Alex Produkt and Kathleen Weldon.
Well our friend Brennan has officially been gone for what seems like forever. My name is Everett and I will be trying to make some posts over the next while, at least until Brennan kicks me off the site. From my current experience waiting for a baby to arrive after your wife’s due date, is like being stood up by a date over, and over, and over again. I am sick of waiting and writing some posts on isle of hue may help me retain some sanity. So hello to anyone who still checks the site and it is going to get better, trust me.
The best thing about growing up skateboarding is the amount of amazingly talented people I’ve met. My friend Robin has just set up his design portfolio at iliketocolour.com. Stomp around his site a bit, it’s clean, easy and looks amazing.
I’m in Zimbabwe right now, the armpit of Africa. People are having their arms chopped off for opposing Mugabe’s government. I’ve seen roaming gangs of young men who are beating the shit out of people who don’t support the Zanu PF. This is serious sketchytown. It is literally cheaper to wipe your ass with million dollar bills than it is to buy toilet paper here. The computer I have access to is bloody slow. I wanted to upload a bunch of photos of hand-painted signage here but I couldn’t even do one in less than an hour so they’ll have to wait. Next week I’m off to South Africa and then to Europe, the land of milk and high-speed internet. Hopefully from there I can be more consistent with the site. Everett says he’s “sorry he shit the bed” on the site. I’m shitting the bed too Ev, but I don’t have a baby on the way.
